Yogo yogavidam neta

Yogo yogavidaam netaa pradhaana purusheswara: |
Naarasimhavapu: Srimaan Kesava: PurushOttama: ||

Yoga: -- He is the very Yoga which joins the soul to Him. He is not only the end-goal of Yoga but also the way of yoga which makes the soul reach that.

Yogavidaam netaa -- He leads all those who know and pursue the path and also He as the inner soul takes care of whoever wants to pursue the path of realisation.

Pradhanapurusheswara: -- He is the Iswara, the ultimate regulator of both Nature and Jivas. When the Jivas forget Him and become independent-minded then Nature takes hold of them and impels them towards decadence. But remembering Him and surrendering to Him reverse the whole grip of Nature and lead the souls to freedom.

Naarasimhavapu: -- This point is well illustrated in the incarnation of Narasimha, the Man-Lion. When the Jiva surrendered himself to the Paramatma, all the forces and drives of Nature were reversed and nothing could cause any ill to Prahlada.

Srimaan -- To mix the human with lion was itself symbolic of His abounding grace to the devotee. And there is nothing in the human or the animal world to match this mixed beauty. Because it was the answer of Grace to the surrender of love.

Kesava: -- In the advent of the Man-Lion the wonderful token of HIs beauty was His manes, swaying uncontrollably. Also He destroyed a demon named Kesi.

But Sri Adisankara gives one unique meaning - 'Kesaa: means Ka (Brahma), A (Vishnu) Isa (Rudra), all three Murtis are comprehended by Him and hence He is Kesava'

PurushOttama: -- He is incomparable to any, whether in bondage or liberated or being eternally free.
